Rant and Ramblings 1
Okay, I hate ranting on facebook so I'll just do it here.
My girlfriend goes to work as a receptionist for some BPO. I think its a 9-5 kind of work, for I am sure she ends at 5 pm. She almost never gets home early, the average time of arrival being 8:30 pm (She mostly arrives 7:30 to 8, and at times 9, 10, 11 and 12 with 2 times at least arriving 630-7) when she lives only in Novaliches while working in Ortigas.
I get that you have dinner with officemates and outings and shit with other friends but she does it almost everyday while our daughter is at her place with the househelp and yaya when she could just be here with me in my house where she gets to see more relatives, so even if I'm not at home there are her grandparents and great-grandma here with her.
Another thing that irks me is that she has to do stuff that is not in her job description (or so she says). I spent time in a front before and you see receptionists everywhere so I can fairly say I know what a receptionist does.
She is required to attend meetings with the bosses. I don't get that, but maybe at times the boss wants someone to write things down or something. Still, there is something called a secretary.
These meetings are non-negotiable even if she already called in sick she has to go to the office at 5 pm for a meeting (now this really sounds like a lie but I'll give her the benift of the doubt) which they need the receptionist.
She is also required to be at the company's booth at events in world trade, smx and such. I get it that they may want a sort of promo-girl to attract people but she denies this and says she's there as part of the HR team or whatever. She brags so much that she was chosen to represent the company with a select few to explain company stuff and crap while the other's with more experience, higher positions and are more qualified did not make the cut to join.
Lastly, she expects me not to be the same. She expects me not to do the things she does. Like, what the hell? You can dish it out but you can't take it?
This ain't revenge as I tell her, it is all about principle, about fairness.
P.S. I'm not bashing the occupation, I'm just stating facts, unless I am wrong about a said fact then my apologies.
